Workshop: Articulations of the ‘Political’ in Contemporary Postcolonial Contexts of North and Sub-Saharan Africa

The work­shop is ded­i­cat­ed to the emer­gence of inno­v­a­tive
polit­i­cal con­cepts devel­oped in polit­i­cal phi­los­o­phy, polit­i­cal
the­o­ry and social activism in Africa over the past decades. The
workshop’s goal is to recon­struct new con­cep­tions of the polit­i­cal
that can pro­duc­tive­ly renew tra­di­tion­al forms of pol­i­tics and thus
func­tion as tran­scul­tur­al cat­a­lysts for intra- and extra-African
con­texts. It brings togeth­er aca­d­e­m­ic phi­los­o­phy and civ­il soci­ety
activism, per­spec­tives from North and Sub-Saha­ran Africa and
high­lights fem­i­nist and post­colo­nial approach­es to the top­ic.
